First Opportunity is a specialty publication designed specifically for African-American and Latino high school juniors and seniors who desire a career in technology, science, or a hands-on vocational role. This audience generally holds a 2.5 GPA and has indicated a desire for future leadership roles in a technical and/or vocational arena.
First Opportunity was created to provide readers with timely information on educational opportunities in degree or certificate programs that lead directly to their career goals. It serves as an extension of the high school guidance office and is the student's handy guide to a rewarding future.
First Opportunity is designed to mentor African-American (75.5%) and Latino (24.5%) high school juniors and seniors with
advice on career options, leadership-skill building, life-management resources, and problem-solving
fitness. Readers are aged 16-19.
First Opportunity readers have a propensity for leadership and service. They want to be at the center of
action and see themselves as future leaders. Most have already volunteered to work in a variety
of charitable and community organizations. These eager students are involved in many extra-curricular
activities, internships, and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Your advertising messages will entice these up&coming leaders to investigate your products and services
while they are still adaptable in their consumer buying habits.
